बिद्यालय खानेपानी सरसफाइ तथा स्वच्कता कार्यक्रम मा रनिंग शिल्ड को अवधारणा

विद्यालयको खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता बीचको प्रतिस्पर्धामा सिरहाको धनगढीमाई नगरपालिका वडा नं. १३ मा अवस्थित श्री आधारभूत विद्यालय लक्ष्मीपुर डाबरले पहिलो रनिङ शील्ड जित्न सफल भयो । सिरहा, सप्तरी, धनुषा र महोत्तरीका २३ वटा सामुदायिक विद्यालय मध्ये ‘खानेपानी,सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता’ मा उत्कृष्टता हासिल गर्दै विद्यालयले नगद ४० हजार रुपैयाँ सहित प्रथम रनिङ शील्ड हात पारेको हो ।

युनिसेफ नेपालको आर्थिक सहयोगमा उदार करुणामयी स्वयंसेवक (एनसीभी) र रतौली युवा क्लव (आरवाईसी) द्वारा सञ्चालित ‘विद्यालयमा खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता’ कार्यक्रम सञ्चालित विद्यालयहरु बीच मात्र उक्त प्रतिस्पर्धा गराईएको हो ।

कार्यक्रम मार्फत २३ वटै विद्यालयमा आवश्यकताको आधारमा खानेपानी,सरसफाइ र स्वच्छताका संरचनाहरु मर्मत एवं निर्माण गरी विद्यालयले नै स्वमूल्याङ्कन गरी सम्बन्धित नगरपालिका÷गाउँपालिकाको सामाजिक विकास समितिले प्रमाणीकरण गरेको थियो । त्यस क्रममा २३ वटा विद्यालयहरु मध्ये ११ वटा विद्यालयले तीन तारा प्राप्त गरे । तीनै तीन तारा प्राप्त सामुदायिक विद्यालयहरु बीच भने खानेपानी तथा सरसफाइ रनिङ शील्ड प्रतियोगिता गरिएको थियो । उक्त प्रतियोगिताबाट सिरहाको धनगढीमाई नगरपालिकाको वडा नं। १३ स्थित श्री आधारभूत विद्यालय लक्ष्मीपुर डाबरले प्रथम पुरस्कार प्राप्त गरेको हो ।

खेलकुदको क्षेत्रमा मात्र प्रचलित ‘रनिङ शील्ड प्रतियोगिता’ विद्यालयको खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता क्षेत्रमा पहिलो पटक मधेस प्रदेशको ६ वटा जिल्लामा सुरुवात गरेको हो । युनिसेफ नेपालले यो अवधारणा अनुसार यस अघि बारा र रौतहटका २२ वटा सामुदायिक विद्यालयहरु बीच प्रतिस्पर्धा गराई पुरस्कार वितरण गरिसकेको छ ।

‘विद्यालयमा खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता’ कार्यक्रम सञ्चालनको क्रममा विद्यालयको योगदान, मर्मत सम्भार कोषमा विद्यालयमा जम्मा गरेको रकम, बाल क्लवको सक्रियता, विद्यालयको खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता संरचनाको नियमित सरसफाइ, किचन गार्डेनको मर्मत सम्भार, खानेपानी तथा सरसफाइ संरचनाको मर्मत सम्भार एवं नियमित पानीको उपलब्धता लगायतको आधारमा तीन तारे विद्यालय मध्येबाट स्वतन्त्र छनौट समूहले पहिलो, दोस्रो, तेस्रो र चौथो विद्यालय छनौट गरिएको जनाएको छ ।

विद्यालय परिवार र सरोकारवाला निकायहरुलाई समेत विद्यालयको खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छता कायम गर्न थप जिम्मेवार बनाउने हेतुले ‘रनिङ शील्ड’को अवधारणा समावेश गरिएको युनिसेफ नेपालका खानेपानी र सरसफाइ अधिकृत बोध नारायण श्रेष्ठले बताउनुभयो । उहाँले यो अवधारणा अनुसार प्रथम पुरस्कार प्राप्त विद्यालयले उक्त पुरस्कार सुरक्षित राख्ने प्रयत्न गर्नेछन् भने अन्य विद्यालयहरुले पनि प्रथम हुने कोशिश गर्नेछन् । यस्तो प्रतिस्पर्धाले विद्यालयको खानेपानी, सरसफाइ र स्वच्छताको अवस्था सुदृढ हुनेछ ।

Municipality level education plan development workshop

Save the children funded “Sammunati-Bal balika ko lagi” (Sponsorship) program has been implementing from August 2017 at Jaleshwar municipality in the local partnership of Ratauli Yuwa Club (RYC) Mahottari. The major goal of the program is to strengthen the capacity of community level structures for serving the quality services by implement ECCD, BE, SHN, AD/ASST, ASRH and Livelihood program in community for ensuring the child protection, child participation, child survival, child development and increase in the access of education to all because Education is one of the fundamental infrastructures of development. The importance of education is common to every country whether underdeveloped or developed. The world experiences heightened need of knowledge. It is essential to realize and invest in education for better development opportunities in the future. To some extent, Nepalese seem to be ignorant in this regard and have been losing the benefits from being educated. So, the program has been conducting activities to assist in community development for access of children in education, cognitive, physical, mental and health development of children by various types of implementing relevant vision, interventions and its monitoring and evaluation through community mobilization and enhancing the capacity of stakeholders, elected bodies and local government.

The event “Municipality level education plan development workshop” organized for fulfills the programs objectives and goal. It supports to develop the updated and generation demanded education plan for Jaleshwar municipality.

OBJECTIVES

Jaleshwar municipality develops the education plan according to constitution and national education policy is the main objectives of event.

Specific objectives:

To support the municipality in updated and generation demanded municipality level education plan development
To rapport building with education related stakeholders of municipality
To conduct the education related activities easily and smoothly

DATE AND VENUE

The event “Municipality level education plan development workshop” successfully organized on the date of 4^th and 5^th October (2 days) at meeting hall of Nepal Red cross society Jaleshwar Mahottari .

5th Thematic meeting(ECCD facilitators) was successfully conducted

The program “Sammunati baal balika ko lagi” (Sponsorship) program has been conducting by Ratauli Yuwa Club (RYC) since August 2017 in support of Save the Children in Coordination of local government and others stakeholder of Jaleshwar municipality in Mahottari district. The project has been implementing in Jaleshwar municipality. This meeting was 5^th Thematic meeting (ECCD Facilitators) and last meeting of the year 2018 had been conducted at Shree Mahendra Aadarsh Mahila Ma.Vi. Jaleshwar-1 on the date of 23rd November,2018. This type of meeting has conducted in mobile meeting methodology from beginning. So that it is called mobile meeting also and the event Thematic meeting (ECCD Facilitators) carried the objectives below:

To share and updating the knowledge and experience to each other’s among ECCD facilitators
To rapport building and interaction with ECCD facilitators
To have action plans to improve ECCD centers.

148 Food-Items and 1152 Non-Food-Items were supported to flood affected HHs in Jaleshwarnath Municipality in August, 2017.
499 HHs got benefited where individuals get Blanket to protect from cold in January, 018
Provided DRR Training to Stakeholders of 5 Schools and Jaleshwarnath Municipality to make SBDRR PoA in 2018.
Provided Training and supported vegetable and rice seed to 1444 farmers in flood affected area ofJaleshwar Municipality.
Provided DRR Training to Elected Persons of Jaleshwarnath Municipality of Palika and Ward level.
Supported in preparing Jaleshwarnath Municipality Disaster Risk Reduction Action Plan-2018.
Installed 20 Hand-pipes in flood affected area of Jaleshwarnath Municipality.
Renovation worked at 13 Flood affected schools and schools WASH facilities in Mahottari
Renovation worked and supported teaching learning activities to 3 resource schools in Mahottari,
Provided School Kits to 58 flood affected schools
Provided ECCD Kits to 38 flood affected ECD Centers
Provided Student Kits to flood affected 31 School Schools
Provided Students Kits to 3867 flood affected Students in Mahottri district
Water treatment(Bleaching) in hand pump in flood affected area of Jaleshwarnath Municipality, Mahottari
Constructed 40 toilet at flood affected community of Jaleshwarnath Municipality, Mahottari

Celebrating “International Children’s day 2018”

The project has been implementing in Jaleshwar municipality. The event day celebration (International Children’s day 2018) had been celebrating to perform the street drama in the date of 20th November,2018 on issues of Child marriage at Jaleshwar-7,Bakhari Chawk from students of shree ma.vi. Bakhari bhaat,Jaleshwar-7 under the objectives below:

To share the information to community and create awareness towards child rights and child marriage is the main motto of the event.

Gender and Social Inclusion

There are 23 child marriage eradication committees have been formed including the all critical stakeholders out of 23 working VDCs in order to identify and advocate against the major social harmful practices like child marriage, dowry and other form of gender based violence.
As wings of those 23 child marriage eradication committees 207 peer educators , child marriage eradication monitoring committees , 23 School based anti-gender based violence forums and 69 young girls club have been formed including 80% women members among them 25 % Dalit , 4% Janjati and 4% Muslims as well.
92 girls have provided scholarship of NRs 10000.00 per girl who were in the risk of child marriage.
There were 85 cases related to these above issues have been addressed and tackled by the community and off course the different local and national media have initiated the issues more than 50 times.
